Start the day heading to the impressive archaeological site of Karajía, located on the heights of the cliffs, where the enigmatic burial sarcophagi of the Chachapoya culture are found. A place that keeps centuries of history and mystery while guarding the valley.
Accompanied by an expert guide, we will take a light hike to the sarcophagi, where we will learn about the beliefs and rituals associated with this ancient cemetery, which reveals fascinating details of the life and death of the Chachapoyas.
At noon, we visit the Casa del Chocho, a space where you will discover how this Andean grain, known for its high nutritional value, is processed. You will have the opportunity to taste various preparations of chocho, known for its fundamental role in traditional cuisine and as a superfood.
We end the tour with a typical lunch that highlights the local flavors, a mixture of tradition and simplicity that connects you with the culture of the region. After a day full of history, traditions and flavors, we return to Chachapoyas.
