Start the day exploring the Huaca Arco Iris, a ceremonial temple with reliefs that narrate the Chimú cosmovision. Then, visit the Chan Chan Site Museum, where you will learn about the history of the largest mud city in the Americas and its vast empire. Next, tour the imposing Chan Chan Citadel, including the Nik An Palace, and discover the reliefs and plazas that reveal the political and religious life of the Chimú.
In the mid-afternoon, enjoy a delicious typical lunch at the Huanchaco beach, overlooking the sea. Afterwards, you will meet a local fisherman who will show you the ancient totora reed boats and tell you about the region's sailing traditions. The tour continues with a visit to the Totorales de Huanchaco, and ends with a visit to the Huanchaco Church, built over an ancient huaca, where you will learn about the Chimu conquest.

We move to the beach resort of Huanchaco to enjoy a typical lunch in front of the sea. A moment to savor and rest.
