This tour offers a deep dive into the rich history and traditions of northern Peru, focusing on pre-Hispanic cultures, archaeology and local customs. Beginning in Trujillo, travelers explore the historic center of the city, visiting emblematic sites such as the Urquiaga House, the Iturregui Palace and the Archaeology Museum of the National University. In addition, they will enjoy a spectacular cultural show with the marinera dance and the exhibition of the Peruvian Paso Horse.
Then, the tour goes into the fascinating archaeological routes of the Moche and Chimú cultures. We visit the Huacas de Moche, where you can appreciate the impressive murals of the Huaca de la Luna and the Chan Chan Site Museum, the ancient citadel of the Chimú, and the seaside resort of Huanchaco, known for its traditional caballitos de totora (reed horses).
On the journey north, travelers explore archaeological sites such as El Brujo and the Huaca Cao Viejo complex, where the famous Tattooed Mummy - Lady of Cao is found, revealing the importance of the role of women in ancient Mochica society. A stop is also made at the Mercado de los Brujos in Chiclayo, known for its traditional medicine products and ritual objects.
The journey continues to the emblematic Huaca Rajada in Lambayeque, where the tomb of the Lord of Sipan was discovered, considered one of the most important finds in Peruvian archaeology. Travelers explore the Royal Tombs of the Lord of Sipan Museum, known for its treasures of gold, ceramics and pre-Hispanic textiles.
