About this tour

A 6-day tour through northern Peru, visiting archaeological sites such as the tomb of the Lord of Sipan, the Kuelap Fortress, and the mausoleums of Revash. Enjoy nature in the Pomac Forest, the pyramids of Tucume and the Gocta Waterfall. Itinerary

    • Airport pick-up

9:00. - Guided visit to the famous Warlock Market, in downtown Chiclayo.

      • We will discover a rich mix of medicinal herbs, ritual objects and natural products used in the traditional medicine of northern Peru.
      • RecommendationRespectful observation and cultural guidance on local practices.

12:00 Departure to Huaca Rajada (Lambayeque):

  • Visit to the archaeological site where the tomb of the Lord of Sipan was discovered..
  • Tour of the Site Museum, The museum preserves original pieces and allows us to contextualize this historical find.
  • Interpretation of the excavation process, funerary rituals and legacy of the Mochica elite.
  • Free time for lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Option to have lunch with typical dishes such as rice with duck, seco de cabrito or northern ceviche (vegetarian option available).

16:00 In the afternoon, visit to the emblematic Royal Tombs of the Lord of Sipan Museum.

  • Considered one of the best museums in South America, it stands out for its architecture inspired by Mochica pyramids.
  • We will observe gold jewelry, ceramics and textiles that reveal the splendor of ancient Peru.
  • Estimated time: 2 h visit with specialized guide.

Overnight in Chiclayo.

07:30 Departure to Pomac Dry Forest

    • Guided interpretative hike through this protected natural area, home to ancient carob trees and endemic birds.
    • Visit to the Ventarrón Pyramid or Huaca de Oro, part of the Sicán legacy.
    • Explanation of the importance of the forest for the cosmovision and rural life of the region.

12:00 Typical lunch in local community. 14:00 Visit to the Pyramids of Tucume, a complex of more than 26 adobe pyramids.

    • Guided tour of the site museum.
    • Explanation of the Lambayeque cosmovision and the importance of the cult of the sea and the moon.

16:00 Experience in a community craft workshop (woven, ceramic or matte chiseled, depending on availability).

    • Direct interaction with artisans.
    • Visitors participate in a small hands-on practice and can purchase pieces as responsible souvenirs.

Departure to Chachapoyas

6:00 am.- Arrival in the morning to Chachapoyas. Transfer to the Hotel, so you can have breakfast and leave your things. 8:00 am, departure to Nuevo Tingo. We will go up the modern cable car system, enjoying spectacular views of the green valleys and mountains that surround the region.

  • Visit to the Kuelap Fortress, Guided tour of the monumental complex located at 3,000 meters above sea level, known as the “Machu Picchu of the North”.”
  • Visit to The Empire, A tour of approximately 30 minutes where we will observe circular and rectangular constructions.
  • Time for lunch
  • Visit to Silic.

Return to Chachapoyas. Overnight stay in Utcubamba Valley

Breakfast at the Hotel 8:00 am.- Departure to the community of Cocachimba, upon arrival we will start one of the best trekking routes.  

  • Gocta Waterfall, The journey is made through an ecological trail surrounded by biodiversity: endemic birds, orchids, coffee plantations and native trees. During the walk, the guide will share information about the fauna, flora and the community's efforts to conserve this fragile ecosystem.
  • Once at the waterfall we will take time to rest and admire its beauty, we will also enjoy a picnic.
  • Then we return to the Cocachimba Community to enjoy the local gastronomy (optional).

Return to the Utcubamba valley, where we will be able to rest.

Breakfast at the Hotel 07:30 a.m. Departure to the town of San Bartolo.

  • During the journey, the guide will explain the importance of family farming, traditional crops and how communities maintain sustainable practices that ensure life in these mountains.

  09:30 a.m. - Arrival to San Bartolo,

  • Upon arrival, we will be welcomed at the Welcome House, managed by the community. There, some of the villagers will share with us an introduction to their culture, their communal organization and the role they play in the protection of the mausoleums. This first encounter connects us with the warmth and hospitality that characterizes the area.

  10:00 a.m. - Walk to the Mausoleums of Revash

  • Accompanied by our guide and a local, we begin the walk to the mausoleums. On the way, we will visit a Muesca House, an example of the ancient Chachapoyas dwellings. There we will learn how they were built, how family life was organized and food storage practices.

  11:00 a.m. - Observation of the Mausoleums of Revash

  • We arrive at the natural viewpoint in front of the Revash Mausoleums, small funeral houses painted in red and white that stand on top of a cliff. The guide will explain their symbolism and function, while the villagers tell us how these places are part of their memory and identity.

  12:00 p.m. - Return to San Bartolo   01:00 p.m. - Lunch in Leymebamba   02:00 p.m. - Visit to the Leymebamba Museum  

  • In the afternoon we will explore the Mallqui Museum of Leymebamba, famous for housing more than 200 Chachapoyas mummies found in the Laguna de los Cóndores. Here we will discover textiles, ceramics and ritual objects that reflect the funerary cosmovision of this people.
  • The museum is also an example of joint work between science and community, which ensures the conservation of cultural heritage. Its gardens, inhabited by hummingbirds and orchids, invite us to reflect on the union between nature and culture.
